Larry Landry
Lawrence L Landry, in 1998, founded Westport Advisors, Ltd., an investment
management company, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Westport
was the general partner of the Westport Senior Living Investment Fund, LP,
a $550 million limited partnership investing in senior housing communities.
From 1998 until 2014, Westport funded, developed and asset managed new
developments with a total of 900 units and stabilized communities totaling
1,800 units throughout the United States. It was also during this time in 2008
that AgeWell Living was created by Larry and his business partner Mark
Lichtenwalner to focus on management of their senior living assets.
Prior to the formation of Westport and AgeWell Living, Larry was Chief Investment Officer of the John D and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, a position he held for ten years. In that capacity his primary responsibility was the management of the Foundation’s $4 billion in public and private investments, including overseeing the Foundation’s real estate assets and operations in Florida. Larry designed and implemented a strategy to divest and develop over 100,000 acres owned by the Foundation in Florida. During this time, Larry gained considerable experience in asset and real estate development.
Prior to the MacArther Foundation, Larry was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer with Southern Methodist University, Swarthmore College and Clark University. He has served on the board of directors for Computervision Corporation, WCI, Greystone Communities Inc., MacArthur Beach State Park Conservation Board, and Grassy Waters Preserve. Currently he serves on the Board of Trustees of Clark University, chairs the Investment Committee and was formerly Chair of the Board of Trustees. Larry helped create The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF), which is a mutual fund for Foundations and Public Charities, where he served as its first chairman. Larry was named by AACSB as one of the top 100 business leaders in the world.
