Chief Development Officer
Stephen Caruso
Stephen Caruso started with Sonata Senior Living at its inception in 2008 as the Vice President of Business Development. His primary role was site selection, executing Sonata’s due diligence, and obtaining all approvals for their development projects. In 2016, Stephen became the Chief Development Officer for Sonata Senior Living, which increased his role to include all development responsibilities. Prior to Sonata Senior Living, Stephen Caruso worked at Realty Capital, a full-service commercial real estate firm in Orlando, FL, from 1998 to 2008. He was a licensed real estate broker who handled the leasing for the portfolio of properties. He also focused on land brokerage opportunities in Central Florida, specializing in healthcare real estate.
In 2005, Stephen started working with several out-of-state senior living developers looking to purchase land in Florida and the Mid-Atlantic, where he helped them secure land and obtain entitlements for their development projects. He was introduced to Stuart Beebe in 2007, and they started to research development opportunities available in the Central Florida market. In 2008, they started assembling a team to start a new development and operating company called Sonata Senior Living.
