Stuart Beebe
Stuart J. Beebe founded Sonata Senior Living in 2008, a senior housing
management company based in Orlando, FL, initially serving as President and
CEO for nearly 15 years. Under his leadership Sonata has grown to be one of
the largest and most respected developers, operators and owners of senior
housing communities in Florida. In 2022, Stuart became Managing Partner,
a role that worked closely with the senior management team in the
development and execution of company strategy, including oversight and
guidance on all strategic initiatives to assure value creation for Sonata’s partners and stakeholders.
Prior to founding Sonata Senior Living, Stuart served as CEO and President of CNL Retirement Properties, a public unlisted healthcare REIT based in Orlando, FL. In this role he was responsible for advising on and financing more than $3 billion in acquisitions, including 180 senior housing assets. He was instrumental in the growth of the company from a start up to the nation’s second largest health care REIT which led to the acquisition in 2006 by HCPI for $5.3B, the largest REIT transaction on record.
Additionally, Stuart held senior executive positions with CNL Real Estate Advisors, a private commercial real estate company based in Orlando, FL. He was involved in all aspects of development activities and strategic planning for the company and directly responsible for all joint ventures and lending relationships. Stuart initiated his real estate career with Lincoln Property Company, a privately held, full service real estate company headquartered in Dallas, TX where he served in numerous capacities including his last role as a Senior Vice President where he was responsible for all development, management, finance and operational activities for the company’s southeast U.S. operations.
Stuart started his career as a certified public accountant for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) in the audit and small business practice serving banking, financial services companies, oil and gas and real estate clients.
Education and Certifications: Bachelor of Business Administration, Baylor University Licensed Real Estate Broker, Florida
